GRJFA Tackle Football Program
Only Glen Rock residents in grades 3–8 may play on GRJFA Tackle Football teams per TCYFL rules. Practices start in August, and the season runs from September through early November. Levels of play include Senior, Junior, and Pee Wee, each with travel and weight restrictions.
Each level has both “A” and “B” teams to match skill levels. “A” games (competitive) are typically held on Saturday, and “B” games (developmental) on Sunday, usually starting at noon. Each game lasts about 75 minutes.
“A” teams compete for standings, playoffs, and championships. Coaches must designate a set number of “A” players based on team size, who may not play in “B” games. “B” teams focus on instruction and sportsmanship; no standings or trophies are kept.
Players are designated as “A,” “B,” or “A/B.” “A” and “B” players dress and play only in their assigned games, while “A/B” players participate in both. “A” and “B” players do not need to attend the games where they’re not rostered.
